Overview of India’s Visa on Arrival Policy

As of September 2019, citizens of 53 countries are eligible for a visa on arrival when they travel to India.

This includes citizens of major Western nations like the United States, as well as a number of Asian and African countries.

The visa on arrival is valid for 30 days and can be extended for up to 60 days total.

It’s important to note that the visa on arrival cannot be converted into a long-term visa, so if you’re planning on staying in India for an extended period of time, you will need to apply for a different type of visa before you arrive.

In order to apply for a visa on arrival, you will need to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your planned arrival in India. You will also need to have proof of onward travel, such as an airline ticket out of India or a train ticket to another country.

Once you arrive in Delhi, you will go through immigration and then proceed to the Visa on Arrival counter. There, you will fill out an application form and submit it along with your passport and proof of onward travel. You will also need to pay a visa fee, which is currently $60 USD.

Once your application is processed, you will receive your visa and be able to enter India.

-A passport-sized photograph taken within the last six months.

-Proof of onward travel, such as a flight itinerary or hotel booking confirmation.

-A credit card or cash to pay the visa fee (2,000 INR for most nationalities, including Chile).

Step by Step Guide to Applying for an Indian Visa on Arrival in Delhi

Assuming you are eligible for an Indian visa on arrival, the process of applying for one is relatively straightforward. Here is a step-by-step guide to doing so:

  1. Go to the official website of the Bureau of Immigration, India:
  2. On the main page, scroll down to the section titled “Visa on Arrival” and click on the link that says “Apply Now”
  3. This will take you to the online application form. Fill out all of the required information truthfully and completely. Be sure to have your passport handy, as you will need to enter information from it into the form.
  4. Once you have completed and submitted the form, you will need to pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card. The current fee is $60 USD for most nationalities (as of March 2019).
  5. After payment has been processed, print out a copy of the confirmation page and keep it with your passport when traveling to India. This confirmation page will serve as your visa upon arrival in India – there is no need to apply for a separate visa in advance.
  6. When you arrive at your port of entry in India (usually an airport), present your passport, confirmation page, and any other required documents to immigration officials. They will then stamp your passport with a 30-day

Required Documents and Fees

Indian citizens as well as foreign nationals need to have a valid passport and a visa to enter India. The process of applying for an Indian visa on arrival in Delhi is relatively straightforward and can be completed in a few simple steps.

First, you will need to gather the required documents, which include a passport-sized photograph, a copy of your passport, and a completed visa application form. You can find the application form online or at the Indian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

Next, you will need to pay the applicable visa fee. For most nationalities, the visa fee is $60 USD. Once you have gathered all of the required documents and paid the visa fee, you will need to submit your application to the Indian embassy or consulate.

The processing time for an Indian visa can vary depending on your nationality and the time of year you apply. However, it generally takes about two weeks for a decision to be made on your application. Once your application has been approved, you will receive your visa by mail or courier.

How Long Does it Take to Get Your Indian Visa?

Assuming you are talking about a tourist visa, it takes approximately 3-5 working days to get your Indian visa if you apply online. The process is faster if you use an agent, who will usually take 1-2 days to complete the application on your behalf. If you apply in person at the embassy or consulate, it can take up to two weeks to receive your visa.
