In an effort to mend relations after Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß made critical remarks about Tottenham Hotspur, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has expressed his desire for a more amicable approach. Dreesen believes that maintaining a friendly atmosphere is key to achieving positive outcomes, not only in the football industry but also in life as a whole. He emphasized this sentiment during an interview captured by Maximilian Koch of Abendzeitung.
Acknowledging Bayern’s keen interest in Tottenham’s star player, Harry Kane, Dreesen confirmed the accuracy of Hoeneß’s comments on the matter. However, he emphasized the importance of following the coach’s philosophy, which suggests that patience is necessary and that results are not achieved by rushing things. Dreesen stated, “The grass doesn’t grow any faster if you pull on it.”
During his interview, Dreesen also shared his official stance on other potential transfers, namely Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Napoli’s Kim Min-jae. Regarding Walker, Dreesen echoed the coach’s position, asserting that they do not comment on players from other clubs. He mentioned that Bayern Munich will only make statements when the appropriate time comes.
Turning to Kim Min-jae, Dreesen expressed excitement about the player’s abilities and revealed Bayern’s strong desire to bring him to the team. While he refrained from making any formal announcements at the time, Dreesen expressed hope that the transfer would materialize in the coming days.
Jan-Christian Dreesen’s diplomatic approach to repairing the relationship with Tottenham Hotspur demonstrates Bayern Munich’s commitment to maintaining positive interactions within the football community. By prioritizing friendliness and patience, Bayern aims to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes in their pursuit of talented players.
