To apply for a tourist visa, you will need a passport that is valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in India, two passport-sized photographs, and a completed visa application form. You may also be required to submit additional documents, such as proof of travel insurance and proof of sufficient funds for your stay in India.

If you are planning to stay in India for longer than 60 days, you will need to apply for a business visa. To do so, you will need a passport that is valid for at least one year from your date of arrival in India, two passport-sized photographs, and a completed visa application form. In addition, you will need to submit a letter from your employer stating the purpose of your trip and confirming that you have leave from work for the duration of your stay in India. INDIAN VISA PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Taking an Indian Visa Photo

When applying for an Indian visa, it is important to submit a high-quality photograph that meets all the requirements. Unfortunately, many people make common mistakes when taking their passport photos, which can result in their visa application being rejected. To avoid this, here are some common mistakes to avoid when taking an Indian visa photo:

  • Make sure your face is completely visible and not obscured by hair, glasses or any other objects.
  • The background of your photo should be plain and light-colored. Avoid anything busy or dark-colored as it will distract from your face.
  • Your photo should be taken in front of a white or off-white wall. Do not take your photo in front of a window as the light may create shadows on your face.
  • Make sure you are the only person in the photo. No other people or animals should be visible in the frame.
  • If you wear glasses, make sure there is no glare from the lenses. If possible, remove your glasses before taking the photo.
  • Check that your facial expression is neutral and you are not making any strange faces.
